Hooked Up Better Than Oprah's Dog...

So I was looking at all the stuff that Extra! gave to Miss Oprah's dog, Sadie...Aroma Paws spa stuff = check; Bessie & Barnie bed = check; sherpa suede blanket = check; pearl necklace = check (actually that one is Delilah's, not mine); dress & tutu = check (again, Delilah's not mine); RN Leather Designs collar = check; Unleashed Life dining bowl set = check!

Plus I got a whole bunch of other stuff here at WOOF, too. I think I am doing pretty good, at least as well as Oprah's dog, especially for being a former shelter pup myself.

Back from Vegas trade shows...still not sure of the time zones or what, but it's nice to be back at WOOF.  Gotta rest up though so that when all that stuff I ordered starts coming in, I can make sure the team here unpacks it all.

Can you ask Mr. Eric if this is business casual?

Check out the pups in the video below. Dimitri, the big guy featured at the very end is a special friend of mine. D and several of his siblings work as "therapy dogs" where they go to different places ~ like libraries, hospitals, medical facilities, etc... ~ and just hang out and be themselves and spread cheer and joy.

You may have seen Dimitri up at WOOF a time or two. He is huge and fluffy and super gentle...and also well known for sneaking around the back counter and trying to get into the bakery case when no one is looking.

Dimitri and his person, Joyce, have been been leading the Night Lights visit at LLUMC for a couple of years now (since they first invited them). Texas Power was at the visit a couple of months ago shooting some footage which was made into the linked video. Three of the dogs from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dog program show up: Cooper (the Collie), Kodi (the ChowChow) and of course, our favorite big guy, Dimitri.

Great work, Dimitri and Joyce. Keep it up!

Show Me the Love!!!!

Harrummph!

I see how it is. So today, the first Friday after Labor Day, the first non-$5 Friday since before Memorial Day and where are y'all? Oh yeah, there I was, sitting at WOOF today just feeling all the love. I even went a little light on my breakfast thinking "hey, it's Friday...there's always lots of folks to give me treats on Fridays."

But oh, no...there I sat, waiting, pawing at the few folks who know that I am much more than just a $5 day. Folks who recognize that I am truly priceless and who would gift me with treats no matter what the day of the week. But where were all the others? Surely you all didn't just come to WOOF for the good deals? I mean, yeah $5 toys were great fun, but hey...I am still here. All grunting and snorting and cute with my mushy little face and big expressive eyes.

Big pug sigh...oh where oh where could all my favorite fans be?

Goodbye, Farewell, So Long...We'll Miss You!

These are Miss Doodle's last few days at WOOF...

She has been with us part-time and intermittently full-time since 2006, while she finished her studies at UTD. Next week, on Tuesday, she will begin student teaching. A 4th grade class right here in Plano.

While I am ecstatic that Miss Doodle is beginning the career towards which she has been working so hard, I know that all of us here at WOOF...will be sorry to see her go. Who will slip me occasional bites of her burrito? Who will keep Ms MJ from being distracted by every new blip of nutritional research and remind her that she is supposed to actually show up and open the store? And most important...who is going to be all cheery and happy and just spread joy with every smile?

Miss Doodle has brought so much to our team here at WOOF...cool stuff for dogs. She has set a standard that will hard for any but the most personable of pugs to match. Please join me in wishing her a most successful career.

And hey, we've still got her 'til Saturday so if you get a chance, come on down and wish Miss Doodle all the best for yourself. And if you happen to wanna sneak me a little steak burrito...you know this diet thing is really getting old.

We will miss you Miss Doodle!!!!

Shoulda Been Mine....

So my mother got a new t-shirt. It says "Never Heel. Never Roll Over" and has a really cool dog with sunglasses sitting on the front of it.

I am totally thinking that should be my shirt! I am all about the whole "Be Your Own Dog" mantra and I just think that would make a great shirt for us pups. I don't even like clothes - at all - but I might wear one that expressed my inner dog....every now and then...maybe...

What about you? What's your inner pup trying to say?
