Goodbye, Farewell, So Long...We'll Miss You!
These are Miss Doodle's last few days at WOOF...
She has been with us part-time and intermittently full-time since 2006, while she finished her studies at UTD. Next week, on Tuesday, she will begin student teaching. A 4th grade class right here in Plano.
While I am ecstatic that Miss Doodle is beginning the career towards which she has been working so hard, I know that all of us here at WOOF...will be sorry to see her go. Who will slip me occasional bites of her burrito? Who will keep Ms MJ from being distracted by every new blip of nutritional research and remind her that she is supposed to actually show up and open the store? And most important...who is going to be all cheery and happy and just spread joy with every smile?
Miss Doodle has brought so much to our team here at WOOF...cool stuff for dogs. She has set a standard that will hard for any but the most personable of pugs to match. Please join me in wishing her a most successful career.
And hey, we've still got her 'til Saturday so if you get a chance, come on down and wish Miss Doodle all the best for yourself. And if you happen to wanna sneak me a little steak burrito...you know this diet thing is really getting old.
We will miss you Miss Doodle!!!!

Doodle,
Please know that there will always be a home for you at Woof. Best of luck with the 4th graders and you will be missed!

To WOOF ~ Pugs, Regulars, Friends, & Family
I have never enjoyed spending so much time at one place, much less "work". WOOF has rarely felt like a job, it's more like hanging out with friends/fur babies. Who doesn't want to help them try to find the right chewy, treat, food, durable extra-strength toy, or perfect outfit? Helping friends and being rewarded with sloppy kisses, roll-overs, sits, & tail wags are what make the day worthwhile.
When I was at the bank yesterday & I told the guy I was pretty lucky because I get to go to "work" everyday & play with dogs, he has to deal with the general public. Granted our four-legged friends get to us somehow, but they are special to me to because when certain people walk through that door you truly see how big their heart is by how they treat their dogs, whether they are part of the family or foster. it doesn't matter. I've never seen so much love given and reciprocated.
I'll miss the pugs and their grunts, snores, and fumes (well maybe not), getting the first sneak peek as I open packages of new stuff to put on the floor, my sweet therapy dogs, who are always in search for the perfect outfit, our customers that are fostering a new pup into their family & getting them prepared to find a suitable home, people who just got their first dog & are starting from scratch who are in need of all the tips they can get (hint 1: use frozen baby carrots for teething puppies), but most of all I'll miss my friends at WOOF, the permanent ones & the ones that just stop by.
Believe me when I say I love all of you. I know what love is because I've watched the dogs for years. Love is unconditional, it does not waiver, does not fluctuate, is not an independent variable. We should all strive to be the person our dog is.
Thank you to all who have left a mark on my heart.
P.S. I'm not leaving forever... don't be surprised if I don't make a few guest appearances.
